ƒ??

One of the earliest collections of the tales and legends unique to the Isle of Man. Collected and published in 1891 by one of the founding fathers of Manx preservation. This volume features many stories and tales gathered together by the author from the people of the Island from both English and Manx sources. As it said in the original description: ƒ??Being an Account of Its Myths, Legends, Superstitions, Customs, and Proverbs, Collected from Many Sources; with a General Introduction; and with Explanatory Notes to Each Chapterƒ?.

A descendant of Illiam Dhone, Arthur Moore was the founder of the Manx Language Society. He was a keen collector of Manx culture, language and folklore and Speaker of the House of Keys. He sought to preserve the Manx culture.

This book will appeal to historians as well as readers who love a good tale.
